The Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), the leading trade organization representing the Filipino music and recording industry since 1972, is marking a significant leadership transition as seasoned executive Enzo S. Valdez takes the helm as President, ushering in a new chapter for the organization.
Valdez, who currently serves in an executive role at UMG Philippines (Universal Music Group) — one of the country’s foremost music labels — brings with him a wealth of industry experience and strategic insight from both the commercial and creative sides of music. His deep involvement in the music business positions him to guide PARI as it continues to champion the interests of Filipino artists, labels, and stakeholders in an era defined by digital transformation and evolving listener behaviors.
The transition also marks the conclusion of Atty. Marivic A. Benedicto’s influential tenure as President of PARI. A respected legal expert and long-time music industry leader, Benedicto has been instrumental in shaping advocacy efforts for artists’ rights and intellectual property protection in the Philippines. Under her leadership, PARI sustained its role as a key force in policy engagement, industry development, and major events like the prestigious Awit Awards.
As Valdez assumes the presidency, the organization looks forward to building on this foundation — with renewed focus on innovation, industry growth, and strengthening the global footprint of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). PARI’s membership, composed of major and independent labels alike, remains committed to fostering a vibrant and sustainable music landscape for all creators and partners.
